Inside Line Promotions – KNOXVILLE, Iowa (May 21, 2018) – Big Game Motorsports driver Kerry Madsen tied his season-best result last Saturday during his season debut at Knoxville Raceway.

Madsen and the Muddy sponsored team earned a runner-up result, which capped a strong weekend of recording a pair of top fives.

“We were good both nights,” he said. “It was great to make our season debut at both Jackson and Knoxville. The track was in pretty good shape after being reconfigured at Jackson. I think it’s going to be really good for the fans.”

Madsen qualified third quickest on Friday night during the season opener at Jackson Motorplex in Jackson, Minn. He then advanced from sixth to third place in a heat race before starting the Great Lakes Shootout presented by Tweeter Contracting and Harvey’s Five Star Roofing A Main on the inside of the third row.

“We had great speed,” he said. “We just couldn’t quite get past the cars in front of us. We ran fifth the whole race.”

Madsen placed fifth, which was his fifth top five of the season.

The weekend concluded the following night at Knoxville Raceway, where the Muddy backed team made its season debut.

Madsen timed in third quickest during qualifying before charging from sixth to second place during a heat race. He ranked second in overall points and with a zero drawn for the feature inversion, Madsen lined up on the outside of the front row for the 20-lap main event.

“We were there the whole race, but 20 laps goes pretty quickly,” he said. “I thought once we got to traffic we could pounce, but it didn’t work out. It went well enough we were disappointed in second.”

Madsen finished in the runner-up position, which he also accomplished twice in February at Bubba Raceway Park in Ocala, Fla.

He and the Muddy team plan on returning to Knoxville Raceway this Saturday.
