Inside Line Promotions – WINDOM, Minn. (Nov. 13, 2018) – Big Game Motorsports scored eight feature victories for the second consecutive season.

Driver Kerry Madsen backed up his eight triumphs earned during his debut season in the Muddy sponsored race car last year by producing the same number in 2018.

“We should have won more than we did, but it was still a strong year,” he said. “You always look at missed opportunities, but in all reality we had a good year.”

While it might have taken longer than anticipated to start winning, Madsen made the most of his opportunities during the second half of the season. It started when he picked up a World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series triumph at Cedar Lake Speedway in New Richmond, Wis., on July 7. It marked his 25th career series victory and was his seventh straight season with at least one Outlaws win.

“For whatever reason we were missing something at the start of the year,” he said. “Around June we got back to where we were (last year) and it was business as usual. To me it’s all about that balanced package and then the confidence comes. I look to get a nice balanced package. Once you get that package and everything sinks in the wins will come. I’ve done it enough to know if you have good people and keep working you’ll find it.”

Big Game Motorsports then won Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions races at Jackson Motorplex in Jackson, Minn., on July 27 and at Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa, on July 28. Madsen claimed the season finale at Knoxville Raceway on Aug. 25 before scoring IRA Sprint Car Series victories on Grondik Law Speedway in Superior, Wis., on Sept. 7; at Clay County Fair Speedway in Spencer, Iowa, on Sept. 14; at Deer Creek Speedway in Spring Valley, Minn., on Sept. 15; and at Beaver Dam Speedway in Beaver Dam, Wis., on Sept. 22.

“That’s why you do it,” he said. “You want to compete and do well at the highest level. I’m not overly worried about the numbers in trying to wrack up 20 wins or whatever. I’d like to do well on the highest stage.”

The Muddy backed team finished the season with 25 top fives and 39 top 10s, giving them 122 top fives and 173 top 10s in the last four seasons combined. The team also has 35 victories during that span.

Madsen and Big Game Motorsports representatives have stated the team intends to stay together in 2019 for the third straight year.
