Inside Line Promotions – BEAVER DAM, Wis. (June 24, 2019) – Kerry Madsen guided the KI Crossbows backed Big Game Motorsports team to a sixth-place run last Saturday during the Jim “JB” Boyd Memorial presented by Karavan Trailers.

It was a strong finish to the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series show, which began with Madsen qualifying 12th quickest and finishing fifth in a heat race.

“I didn’t really have a bad heat race; we were in the outside line and it went nowhere,” he said. “We were pretty good in the main event and ended up sixth by the end of it.”

Madsen rallied from 15th to the sixth-place result in the main event.

“It seemed like the top was the predominant line, but you could hit the bottom in turns one and two,” he said. “It was more about patience and when the opportunity is there to jump on it.

“I’m really happy. It was a good way to end the night. It’s always a nice feeling when you leave the track moving forward the way we did.”

Sunday’s Outlaws event at Dubuque Speedway in Dubuque, Iowa, rained out.

Next up for Madsen is the 41st annual AGCO Jackson Nationals, which is this Thursday through Saturday at Jackson Motorplex in Jackson, Minn. The World of Outlaws event pays $41,000 to win, making it one of the richest paydays of the season for sprint car drivers.

“A lot of people are pretty excited about going,” he said. “I think it will be a great event that will get big. Five years ago it was a 360 race and now it’s turned into one of the premier events in the country. The fans are getting behind it with arranging holidays and camping. It’s incredible.”
