Inside Line Promotions – CONCORD, N.C. (Nov. 12, 2019) – Kerry Madsen posted a top-10 result last Friday during the opening round of the Can-Am World Finals, which was his final event of the season.

The KI Crossbows sponsored Big Game Motorsports driver was solid throughout the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series event at The Dirt Track at Charlotte. The event began on Thursday when the more than 50 drivers completed qualifying runs for the Friday and Saturday programs.

Madsen set quick time in his group for Friday and he was fourth quickest for Saturday.

“We qualified really well for both nights,” he said. “I was really pleased. The motor ran really good and the car was great.”

A third-place result in a heat race each night missed a spot in the dash by only one position, but it locked Madsen into the 14th starting spot both nights.

“We ran really well on a rubber-down track Friday and ran it up to eighth,” he said. “We had a good race car and could attack. The first part of it, like the first five laps, I was hanging in there. Then we got some good lines going. Turns three and four took rubber so it was one lane, but in turns one and two you could sort of race and attack.”

The eighth-place outing was Madsen’s 11th career top 10 at the track. Unfortunately, Madsen ran into trouble on Saturday when he was involved in an early multiple-car incident in turns three and four.

“On the fourth attempt on the start I got taken out from behind,” he said. “It caused a big melee and we were no good after that. We restarted at the back and made a bit of progress, but weren’t very good so we pulled in about midway.”
