Inside Line Promotions – BARBERVILLE, Fla. (Feb. 10, 2020) – A sixth-place result highlighted the DIRTcar Nationals for Big Game Motorsports driver Kerry Madsen.

The Killer Instinct Crossbows sponsored driver faced numerous uphill battles throughout the five-day event at Volusia Speedway Park, where approximately three dozen of the top winged sprint car drivers in the world duked it out on the fast half-mile track.

Madsen maneuvered from 24th to 14th last Wednesday before advancing from 22nd to 19th on Thursday during the pair of Ollie’s Bargain Outlet All Star Circuit of Champions races. He then qualified eighth quickest, won a heat race, placed fifth in the dash and scored a sixth-place result in the feature on Friday when the track hosted the first night of a World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series tripleheader. Results of 13th – from 26th after being caught up in an opening-lap crash – and 17th, respectively, capped the weekend.

“The first two All Star nights we didn’t have the balance in qualifying quite right and didn’t get a good time, but we had good pace,” Madsen said. “I feel like we got the balance better in qualifying on Friday during the World of Outlaws opener.”

While the event was a work in progress as the team learned, luck wasn’t on Madsen’s side.

“We were in the work area three times and none of the three times were our fault, but we’ve gone forward really well,” he said. “There’s a lot of pace and potential. It just hasn’t been our week. The car has been fun to drive. We’ll keep working on everything so when the luck turns around we’re fast enough to take advantage of it.”

Big Game Motorsports will take the next few weeks off before returning to action March 13 at Cotton Bowl Speedway in Paige, Texas, and March 14 at LoneStar Speedway in Kilgore, Texas, during the East Texas Lone Star Shootout with the World of Outlaws.
