Inside Line Promotions – WINDOM, Minn. (May 4, 2020) – Kerry Madsen is riding momentum entering a World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series event at Knoxville Raceway this Friday.
“It’s going to be a pretty tough field so you’ll have to be on point,” he said. “You won’t have much time, two or three laps in hot laps, to be on point. It’s stressful, but I think we’ll be fine.”
The Killer Instinct Crossbows backed Big Game Motorsports driver recorded his best result of the season – a second-place showing – two weeks ago during his most recent race. Madsen led multiple laps and was in contention for the triumph in the final stage despite battling an electrical problem.
Now the team heads to a familiar track in Knoxville, Iowa, where Madsen won twice last year – including the Hard Knox Night during the Knoxville Nationals. Madsen finished with seven podiums and he ended up ninth in the Knoxville Raceway championship standings despite missing multiple races.
“I know what kind of feel that I want,” he said. “You know the track pretty well. Plus, we have good motors. Barring any incidents I think we should be okay.
“(The goal is) running up front, in the top five. Sometimes if it’s not your night you might have to start deep in the field, but we expect to do well.”
Madsen earned the Knoxville Raceway track championship in 2005 and he has 23 career 410ci winged sprint car triumphs at the oval.
